Our story
How it all began…
MIKADO INTERNATIONAL WAS LAUNCHED IN 2010 TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN THE MODERN, MULTICULTURAL CONSUMER AND THE BRANDS TRYING TO REACH THEM.
Recognizing a growing need for advertising strategies that speak to the new, diverse global consumer base, MIKADO International was founded on the principle that inclusive, thoughtful, and relevant communications can bridge cultural gaps, tell a brand’s story, and deliver optimal results at the same time.
In 2012, we began working with our first Fortune 100 company, and have since expanded our portfolio of clients to include global consumer brands and household names. We’re proud to have strategized and deployed multi-channel campaigns that highlight the holidays, traditions, and values of the minority groups that have largely been ignored by traditional marketing efforts. Sandrine Vohra
chief executive officer
Born to an Indian immigrant family in France, Sandrine graduated with a degree in International Management from the ESSEC Business School in Paris and went on to earn her MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2007. Prior to founding MIKADO International in 2010, she had the distinct honor of working in marketing and leadership roles for global organizations such as Merrill Lynch and Dish Network in various countries including France, Germany, India, and the U.S. where she successfully developed and executed multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Throughout her personal and professional journeys, she has helped raise awareness about minority representation and is actively championing the #DiversityIsNow movement. Sandrine’s passion for diversity and her work at MIKADO has earned her notable accolades as an authentic ambassador of the empowered ethnic woman. In 2019, she was recognized as one of 50 outstanding Asian American leaders.
When Sandrine is not strategizing the next big international multicultural campaign for global brands like Unilever, Lipton, Knorr, Xfinity/Comcast at MIKADO or creating an inclusive, responsible and supportive work environment for her peers (a diverse group including working mothers) to excel in, she is busy being a mother to two beautiful girls.She is a self-confessed foodie and a regular contributor to wine and culture blogs. In her spare time, she enjoys sampling cuisines from the vast assortment of restaurants Denver has to offer and exploring the history behind the various wine regions of the world.Sandrine is fluent in four languages – French, German, Hindi, and English – and is currently learning Spanish and Sanskrit.
Jeannie Yip
VP Marketing & Operations
A first-generation immigrant who has been residing in the United States for almost 30 years, Jeannie is a seasoned marketer with over 20 years of experience working in advertising roles that spanned multiple industries including media outlets, corporate marketing, and advertising agencies specializing in CPG, telecom/healthcare services and financial/insurance industries for global brands and Fortune 500 companies such as Unilever, DISH (or Comcast), AXA Financials, and New York Life.
At MIKADO, Jeannie uses her passion to help immigrants feel at home anywhere in the world to inform her role, where she formulates data-driven marketing campaign strategies to build brand awareness, drive new customer acquisition, and deliver a seamless and optimal user experience for partner brands.
Outside of her working life, Jeannie is a true foodie who loves to cook new, global recipes for her 2 children, a boy, and a girl.
Jeannie was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 2007, which she credits for keeping her motivated and enthusiastic about the work she pursues. Besides English, Jeannie is a native Chinese speaker (both Mandarin and Cantonese) and can write in both simplified and traditional Chinese.

Siju graduated with a MBA in Management Studies from the University of Mumbai in 2009, and recently went on to further his education by completing a Certificate in Marketing Analytics from the Virginia Dean School of Business, as well as a Certificate in Marketing Management from the University of Toronto in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Siju has over 12+ years of experience in developing media solutions and marketing campaigns across multiple industries, including, media, agency, and real estate. Prior to joining the MIKADO team, Siju served as Account Director for the Walt Disney Company, where he was focused on generating revenue for both broadcast and digital through forming strategic partnerships with some of the world’s leading sporting establishments. His other past roles include consulting for Fortune Global 500 companies such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, L’Oreal, Castrol, Nissan Motor, Volkswagen, Audi, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Mondelez International, and McDonald’s, to name a few.
At MIKADO, Siju works as the South Asian and MENA Market Strategist, where he develops and executes media strategy, planning, and buying, and also leads client communications for some of MIKADO’s largest partners.
Outside of work, Siju is a self-confessed film and sports fanatic and a die-hard Red Devils fan.
SHWETA SURATKAR
DIRECTOR: ACCOUNTS & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Shweta earned her MA in Media Studies with Media Management specialization from The New School, New York in 2007 and has recently completed Google Foundations Of Digital Marketing and E-Commerce and Google Attract and Engage Customers with Digital Marketing Certifications.
A strategist, relationship builder, and negotiator, Shweta has extensive Global Marketing and Business Development experience across diverse ethnic and cultural environments. Shweta has worked extensively to develop strategies to launch OTT services worldwide including negotiating parentships with TV networks.
With over 10+ years of experience in marketing and media sales, Shweta specializes in B2B and B2C marketing, developing pricing strategies, managing budgets and drive revenue growth. She has launched successful multi-channel campaigns and driven brand penetration in local as well as global markets.
As Account Manager, At MIKADO Shweta specializes in South Asian media strategy and leads community partnerships nationwide.
Outside of work, Shweta loves to travel and create craft and art with her little girl.
Daniel earned his BA in Business Administration from the Universidad de La Sabana in 2018, where he then went on to complete a Master’s in Strategic Marketing from CESA in 2021. Daniel began his career working as a Marketing Coordinator for an advertising agency in his native Colombia, before going on to serve as Head of Digital & Media for Decathlon Colombia, where he spent 3 and a half years managing digital marketing growth across multiple channels including social media, Google SEM, influencer and email marketing.
At MIKADO, Daniel manages engagement, reach, and brand awareness for both organic and paid content, paid digital ads, influencer marketing, and programmatic campaigns.
Outside of work, Daniel is an avid traveler who loves to expand his knowledge of different cultures through frequent trips and reading about anything that pertains to his love of multicultural communities.
Outside of English, Daniel is also fluent in Spanish.
BRITTANY TRAN
DIRECTOR: ACCOUNT STRATEGY & EDITORIAL
Based in Los Angeles, Brittany is a Brand Strategy leader recognized for building startups and leading impactful pro-social initiatives. Recognized by Forbes and Yahoo!, she is known for her approach to brand development and team leadership. Brittany possesses a broad skill set covering filmmaking, entertainment, media, and agency work. Brittany has committed her career to diversity and inclusion, bringing a wealth of experience in AAPI and multicultural marketing.
Brittany is currently the Director of Account Strategy & Editorial at MIKADO International. Her previous stints have been as Head of Brand & Experiential Officer at Saigon Broadcasting Television Network, where she led the development and launch of their streaming platform, helping SBTN become a pioneer in diasporic Vietnamese television. She also worked at Netflix as an International Originals Producer, leading creative strategies for Asia Pacific Original content. Apart from her corporate roles, she has run a creative agency and partners at two brick-and-mortar restaurants.
Brittany currently sits on the board of the Asian Business Association Los Angeles, continuing to champion multicultural marketing initiatives and ensuring every campaign she touches is as inclusive as it is impactful. Brittany is a mother of one child, a wife, and she is fluent in both English and Vietnamese languages.

A passionate Motion Graphics Artist, Dids earned his BFA in Advertising Arts from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila Philippines in 2014. For over a decade, he worked as a creative artist as well as an online marketing design team lead for several local and multinational companies from various industries such as CIMB Bank, Megaworld, Honda, and Shopee, to name a few.
At MIKADO, Dids continues to create designs that connect to a more diverse set of consumers. His work seeks to be effective attention-grabbers in the heavily-saturated social media environment.
Outside of work, Dids enjoys going around the Philippines on two wheels, whilst taking photographs of his journeys – combining his passion for motorcycles, photography, and travel.
MONIQUE
CREATIVE MANAGER – PRINT & DIGITAL
Monique is a Canadian artist. She has over 20 years of design & production experience with a Certificate of Design from the University of Emily Carr. Monique has worked freelance as a Senior Designer & Production Artist mainly in the Natural Health industry for companies such as: Natural Factors Vitamins, SISU Vitamins, The Natural Products Group Ltd. (a design firm catering to US based natural health product companies), and Garfinkel Publications.
She has experience in branding, websites, marketing collateral, annual reports, packaging, illustration, social media and more. She recently moved back to Canada after spending 7 years in Mexico running a dog rescue while working remotely.
Monique joined MIKADO as their Creative Production Artist where she continues to use her design and technical skills to ensure everything goes to press correctly.
Outside of MIKADO, Monique enjoys her side-line business creating pet portraits. She is a vegetarian who loves all animals, nature, walking, wildlife photography, illustration of all types, travel and making new friends.
Rami Awad
ART & 3D MOTIONS CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Rami is a first generation Jordanian Canadian and Sr. Motion Artist at MIKADO. He is bilingual, speaking both Arabic and English.
With over two decades of experience across different countries and cultures, Rami visualizes and brings any story to life with his outstanding motion graphics, 3D lighting, and motion chopping skills. He has spent his time working on big and small clients such as: Marvel Studios, Aramco, Lipton, Mercedes-Benz, Saudi Post, Tecno Mobile, GreenBerry Coffee and The Saudi Investment Bank. Rami is always on the move to take any design to the next level.
Outside of work, Rami is an avid Star Wars and Star Trek fan and enjoys playing squash in his free time.
MEET OUR MARKETING TEAM
Maria Jose, a native of Peru, has called the United States home for nearly 20 years. With a Bachelor of Science in Communication, specializing in Advertising from Florida International University, and an MBA in Digital Business from EU Business School, she has honed her expertise in marketing and communication.
Maria Jose began her career at Telemundo Network, part of NBCUniversal, where she excelled in developing omnichannel strategies and crafting engaging social media content targeting Hispanic audiences in the US. Transitioning to the fintech sector, she led multicultural campaigns for minorities across the US, Latin America, and the EMEA region.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Maria Jose focuses on campaigns for US Hispanic brands at MIKADO, reflecting a commitment to cultural understanding and excellence in marketing and communication. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, travel, and kayaking, balancing her professional success with personal passions.
After having done her bachelor’s in mass media and majored in the field of Advertising from Mumbai University in 2005. Ami has over 15 years of experience in international media planning, media buying and strategy development. Having worked in UK with various multicultural agencies as Media Planner Buyer and as a Head of Media across various clients in the field of Finance, Telecommunication, Travel, Lifestyle, Pharmaceuticals, Fashion and TV Channels, where she helped launch the brands across various markets like APAC, USA, UK, and South Africa.
Passionate about working with numbers, data and the love for negotiations and getting the best deal for the client, Ami now has joined MIKADO as a Media Buyer. She will be working on client Media Plans and buying strategy across various states.
She can fluently speak English, Gujarati, Hindi and Marathi. She loves dancing to Bollywood songs, cooking and wants to eventually go on a World Tour with family. She loves to make new friends and connect with people around the globe.
After completing her Bachelor’s in Engineering in Information Technology, Neha pursued her Master’s in Media and Entertainment from Welingkar College, Mumbai. Building on her academic achievements, she continued her education with a Postgraduate Program in Digital Marketing from Columbia Business School in 2022. Presently, she is pursuing a certification in Strategic Brand Management from MICA Institute.
With over 8 years of experience, Neha is an expert in Social Media Marketing, Influencer Marketing, and Brand Endorsements. Her expertise lies in conceptualizing digital content and intellectual properties for brands, collaborating with influencers and celebrities across diverse categories.
Before joining Mikado, Neha contributed to global brands such as Reckitt Benckiser, ITC, Perfetti Van Melle, Oppo, Audible, OnePlus, Giorgio Armani, Swarovski, Sony Music, MI Mobiles, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Yves Saint Laurent, and more while working with renowned media houses in India and USA.
In her role as Manager for Editorial and Influencers at Mikado, Neha develops strategies and content to enhance brands’ social media presence and leads influencer partnerships. Her passion for creativity shines through in her work.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Neha is a skilled dancer and enjoys exploring global cuisines through her travels and culinary adventures.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I’ve lived and worked across five diverse countries – Switzerland, Portugal, Hong Kong, the United States, and Canada. A native and trilingual individual proficient in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Motivated by my passion for travel and diverse cultures, I pursued a degree in Hospitality Management at the University of Derby, graduating with first-class honors. My academic journey reflects my commitment to excellence.
My professional journey includes roles in luxury hotel chains like Marriott and Hilton, along with account management experience in the largest translation company. I’ve had the privilege of working with notable clients such as NISSAN, L’oreal, Novartis, Edelman, New Balance, JP Morgan, and more, providing me with valuable experiences.
Driven by a love for exploration, I’ve visited over 35 countries and am excited about exploring new continents as my next step!
